Key Features of Fayetteville
Shopping & Dining
Although located in the “Town” of Manlius, Fayetteville is located just north of the “Village” of Manlius. This charming hamlet sits at the corners of East Genesee St., Manlius Street and Salt Springs Road. You’ll find the Towne Center Shopping Plaza with stores like Target and Kohls, as well as many small shops.
Parks & Recreation
The Erie Canal has become a recreational hiking trail, and Green Lakes State Park on the eastern edge of the village preserves part of a primeval forest with two unusual, deep green colored lakes. Fayetteville is also home to numerous golf courses such as Green Lakes, Lyndon Golf Course, Onondaga Golf & County Club, and more.
The prosperity of the local quarries, mills, farms, stores, warehouses and canal boats led to the building of many of the Greek Revival style homes that still line Fayetteville's Genesee St. Hill and are part of the Fayetteville Historic District which was entered on the National Register in 1983.
